Sky Channel is Australia’s premier Racing channel, covering Australian and International Thoroughbred, Harness and Greyhound racing. Sky Channel also produces a raft of popular and entertaining magazine programs covering all aspects of the racing industry.

Sky Channel’s Production department is seeking an experienced TV/Broadcast professional to join the team in the position of Production Services Manager! The Production Services Manager is responsible for the long-term planning of facilities and resources, ensuring the efficient operation of the facilities environment to ensure successful completion and transmission of programs and promotions.

Reporting to the Head of Production, the Production Services Manager will also assume the role of 2IC for the Head of Production when required.

In addition, responsibilities will include, however, are not limited to:

• Ensure the successful integration of new technology

• Contributing to departmental planning for changes in technology, future channels and the prospective needs of clients in line with business planning requirements

• Managing the activities of the Presentation and the Production Services department

• Overseeing the generation, distribution, collection and archiving of all rosters and schedules

• Supporting the Head of Production and assisting the Production team in day-to-day operations

• Leading, mentoring and developing the performance for direct reports (Editors, Facilities, Graphics, Commercial Producer & Presentation)

• Training & development of direct reports

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to have:

• At least 10 years television/broadcast scheduling experience & television/broadcast production experience in a live production environment

• Demonstrated thorough understanding of TV Broadcast and Production environment

• Proven strong decision making skills

• Experience with Scheduall will be highly regarded

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite

The successful candidate will have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and will be able to confidently communicate across all levels of the business, including the Senior Management level. Additionally, the Production Services Manager will have the know-how and drive to get the best out of their team, will have superior time management and organisational skills, and will thrive in a high pressure environment.
